coliseum road to freedom cant save

(i have a slimline ps2 with a swap magic 3.6)

i backed up coliseum road to freedom and i go fight all my battles and then once i get to save my own @ss part basically to buy my freedom it asks me to save..

once i say yes to saving it says save corrupt do i wish to continue so i try over agains everal times and to no avail... so i continue get into the game a little further and try to save again it says save corrupt can not save.......

i restarted this several times and still not saving

well i went and deleted data from the memory card and tried the game hence once again wnet asked me if i wanted to save.. then no data so do i want to create data so i say yes..... well its been sitting on saving the game for 5 minutes now lol.......

help!!
