mod chip or swap magic? (newbie)

Does anyone have any advice on what i should do ? I`m sick of paying silly prices on games and so i want to get copied games or cheap imports off ebay e.g (u.s and japan). What is cheaper and easier to buy and how does the slide card work.

Depends on what you want to do really. If you prepared to open up your console and your handy with a solder get a modchip. However if you don't want to void your warranty, or your from the U.K where mod-chips are illegal you may want to go for swap magic. I personally have swap magic and I find the slide tool quite easy to use once you get the hang of it. Its certainly easier than soldering a modchip. theres a video here: http://www.swapmagic3.com/slidetool-demo.zip of how the slide card works. Swap magic is MUCH cheaper, but requires the use of a swap. You can pick up swap magic easily off eBay as i did mine, but modchips are a bit harder to find. I'd personally advise you to get a swap magic but its your choice.
