Merge several MPG1then convert to WMV for web streaming.

Hi,
I have 41 separate mpg1 files that I need to merge into 2 wmv files, ready for being streamed over an intranet.

I tried using TMPGenc to merge the files for the first batch and found the resultant mpg1 had out of sync audio. I read this forum and found this is a recurring problem with TMPGEnc, so I downloaded DVCool, and used this to merge the mpgs. This was successful.

I then imported the merged MPG1 (1.5 GB approx) into Windows Media Encoder 9 to create a 284kbps wmv file, all was fine with the resulting wmv EXCEPT it stops about 5secs short from the end. I checked the source MPG and its all there. Any ideas? I thought of stitching on a buffer blank 3s mpg onto the end, - but the vid takes such a long time to encode I thought I'd drop this line first!
