It might be a bum disc. Try taking it back for a replacement.

I backed that one up this morning-region 1.First I started with the usual DVD Shrink and it froze during the initial analyzation. I then turned on AnyDVD and it ripped right through it and Nero autoburned it.

Hi wells2u,

I only have DVD decrpter and DVD Shrink. Would greatly appreciate detailed instructions from anyone.

i.e.. in decrpyter did you rip in File mode, ISO or IFO mode?

What does one do with a TS_video file?

how does one compress an 8 gig ISO file?

I skipped VTS _01_01, VTS_01_02, and some other similar ones, that decrypter couldnt rip? Does this sound ok?

thanks for helping this nube.

Sorry if I missed answer on this question but I really want to burn "Kung Fu Hustle". I already have the movie on my hard drive. I can watch it on computer, but when I'm trying burn it with CloneDVD2 I have an error message that the *.ifo file is too big. I checked with old files from different movies. They are same. What I missed? I was thinking that if I have movie on hard drive, I can burn it. Is that so?
I have Windows XP, Pioneer 108 (probably) burner, and using Taiyo Yuden discs.
Thanks.

Hi, gvrz9
open the movie in dvdshrink 3.2
reauthor the movie only and burn with Nero or dvddecrypter.

Good Luck

gvrz9--------it's always been my understanding ....... if you can get the movie to your HD you can burn it!~ use DVDShrink, CloneDVD2, DVDRebuilder, or DVDFab Express........ never had problems with any of those programs.......check out the guides by BBMayo: http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/index.html and follow instructions...... you can't go wrong!!!! good luck.... and have fun doing it!

my backup DVD can not play the movie in Chinese. I HATE English dubbed movies, but I go to menu and select Cantonese, but it still plays in English. is there anyway to copy it so that it can play in Cantonese?

i used DVD Shrink with AnyDVD in the background, then burned with Nero. i then tried to use DVD Decrypter with AnyDVD, then DVD Shrink and burned with Nero. there is no Language button on my remote. i go to Menu and select Cantonese as the lanauge, but it's still in English. i do the same with the original DVD and it works, but not on my copied dvd.

what I meant was audio button...... if your dvd remote control has an audio button then it should be able to change the audio to what you want!

if you ripped the DVD with Decrytper then it should work fine on the computer! Decrypter doesn't change the files at all....... shrink transcodes the files to smaller files so it can fit onto a DVD5 (single sided DVD). maybe it's in the settings of shrink that just saved the audio to English to save space for the movie!? I would say it's a setting in shrink! or something that shrink did!

i had a problem of making a backup of kung hustle with DVD Shrink when it's analyzing at 9% so then i ripped the movie using to DVD Decrypter, there was not a problem and so i had a successful burn using DVD Shrink. Hopes this will help.

in AnyDVD you can choose which language to have!!!!!!! how about that! If you put the setting to Cantonese then it should just allow that language...... I'm not too sure on that, because, I hardly use AnyDVD anymore! but it's worth a try! Before you rip or burn anything..... click on the AnyDVD icon by the clock on the bottom right of your screen. It should open and in the PROGRAM tab is Languages! Instead of AUTOMATIC you can pick your language! try that! see what happens! ok? but as I look at it I don't see Cantonese there..... but if the disk has it then it should appear there..... I guess. Like I said.... I'm no expert but it's worth a try!
