I've gotten Kung Fu Hustle, and i wanted to make a back up copy (as i do with all of my dvds)* but it simply will not. I've tried dvd shrink and roxio dvd copy. (has always worked before). I also have dvd region + css free running. I can't find any way around this. Help me if you can.
Thanks

sony movie; use decrypter, may help or even better AnyDVD. i just copied today 8/9 @ 5pm, used shrink/anydvd/nero to burn. main movie-only, no problems, 40 minutes entire process.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

Yep, new Sony protection. However, try AnyDVD + CloneDVD2. this has helped me before on Hitch. It will take roughly 15 minutes, main movie.

Backed up Kung Fu Hustle w/o problem. Running AnyDVD in background. Ripped w/ Shrink DVD. Then was able to open in CloneDVD2 w/o VOB errors. Used CloneDVD2 to edit out the previews and re-encoded it w/o compression. Then used DVDShrink to compress & burn. Came out perfectly. Note: for me the current version of DVD Decrypter did not rip properly and produced VOB errors when opened in CloneDVD, also in movie only authoring had beep in beginning frames. But when ripping w/ Shrink no such problems.

You may wonder why I don't compress and burn w/ CloneDVD; it is because Shrink produces a much better quality video. I also have had some ocaissional glitching in the last few minutes of movies burned w/ CloneDVD.

Why don't you custom size your disc in CloneDVD 2?

kung-fu hustle, man of the house, hitch, xxx: state of the union, and R we there yet.. are the ones that i've come across it so far .... i don't know about 2morrow when dose three movies comes out.... anyways, I've used DVDFAB PLATINUM (Express Mode)... if u go to dvdidle.com u can download the trial version this allows u to view the movie, u have an option of burning the complete/main movies, shows the quality and it would burn the movie for u 100% etc.., or if u wanna burn it staight to a disc or ur hard drive... but beware always that a trial version doesn't always work as good as the real version... [REMOVED] oh and by the way this dvd clone is soooo slow compare to dvdfab.... aside from dvdfab doom works as well...

Well I hope this wont get showchic into any more trouble but, showchic you were right about DVDFAB PLATINUM because since I used up my AnyDVD trial time up a long time ago I couldn't try it so I used DVDFAB as you said in (Express Mode) and I backed-up my kung fu hustle dvd. I don't know why or what about DVDFAB PLATINUM in (Express Mode) made it work but it was able to do what dvdshrink version 3.2.0.15 and dvddecrypter version 3.5.2.0 could not do. If anyone knows of an upgraded version of decrypter or shink that can back up kung fu hustle let me know because I like to have the least amount of programs as I can and also because I don't know how much time the trial on DVDFAB will last me. Thanks.
