NE1 know how to fix a scratched dvd?

I have a backup of brothers in arms, and when decrypting with dvd decrypter, alcohol 120% it always stops a 27%. I am rebacking up the backup to patch it to go online. I have had success with 10 other backing up backups. It looks like it has scratches so how do you fix scratches on a cd?

do you have a disc doctor? of course you wouldnt be asking otherwise..Get a disc doctor dude..thats you best shot as long as the scratches arent too deep

Agreed! Except for carefully cleaning your disk, resurfacing is the only way to go. I have ruined more disks than fixed doing it by hand. The $30 is well spent. You can buy them, the brand does not matter, at any video dept. They have a 6" diamenter wheel and you crank them. Everything else is a waste of time. I have spent hrs trying to get a good read from a scratched disk. Now, I do not think twice. In a minute or two the problem is solved!

i dissagree with disk doctor. i takes away layers of the disk. i use turtle wax. it fills in the scraches just as it would do on your car. just buff it in with an old CLEAN shirt. works like a charm. apply more than one coat if nessasary.

I love Disc Doctor. I don't see why you would think taking a layer off your disc is a bad thing. Not like it's taking that much really. Disc Doctor has yet to fail on me, when the damage is on the clear plastic layer at least. Won't help you if they data layer is damaged.

I just tried the turtle wax trick and it really works!!
I rented a game thats 3 years old and had a lot of scratches. Even after washing and wiping it would freeze with DVD Decrypter at 21%. I then use turtle wax, let it dry, then wiped clean and it copied the entire thing. Now I don't have to worry if a disc is too scratched. I am going ot try this on my music cds!

try using a bit of cheap toothpaste without any abrasive stuff in it just a couple of tiny spots on the disc then rub it in till all gone with tissue
