I have successfully backed up the SOCOM 3 Beta. You can bypass the DNAS security, however, when you log onto it, a popup comes on and accuses you of cheating and kicks you offline. It has happened twice and I fear if I try a third time my MAC address will be banned and I won't be able to play with my legitimate copy.

Ah crap yea I successfully backed up my original copy of socom 2 just to test out backing up, and I was all happy it worked when I put it in, and it got online and everything but a few seconds later online it gave me that cheat device message to. So man socom 3 beta is a no to, and socom 3 will definently have the same security.

Yeah I have the beta of socom 3 also but dont want to try the back-up either, just in case, but if anyone comes up with a solution, you get.......uhhhhhhh......mad props?

I got the Socom 3 beta from my friend who won it in the sony raffle, and already tested it out. But now I fear being caught again on socom using a cheat device to get online. So I you can't used a backed up copy of 2 or 3.

The image I downloaded was already patched with a DNAS ID, so I tried that, and no luck. Then I found a supposed working ID, and patched the image with that. No luck again. I've tried both of them with Swap Magic, and with CogSwap, and I get DNAS Error (-864) every time :(

Socom 2 is my absolute favorite game and currently the only one i want to burn, is this not possible, can i not make a copy off of my friends copy?

Sure you can make a copy for your friend but he can't play it online just one player. Because even if you patch a different dna$ id on it sony will catch you a few seconds after u logg online with the s2 backup, and kick u right off threating u if u logg on it again you will be banned for a hour, and so on.

hey i have the beta but unfortunatly someone has already tried to patch it. i was wondering if anyone could plz send me the 3 dnas files you need to patch plz if they have the real version. my email is timmy__timtim@hotmail.com

You can just use WinDIP (disc id patcher) to unpatch the .iso file, then patch it again with the correct dnas id.

I found this on the internet, can someone tell in details how to patch it?
Socom III: US Navy Seals Beta
(Size = bytes)
Disc ID = XX XX 04 31 65
just put any number 1-9 or any letter a-f combination in place of the X's and it will work.

This ID doesn't work at all, don't even try or u'll just spent another DVD-R, we need to keep on mind, that this beta have only 1 map online and it's only for beta testers, that have previously signup on sony beta tester to receive the SOCOM 3 Beta, i have one friend that have this one, and he said to me that this beta is full of bugs, and the character is slow than ever... so i hopefully expects that on SOCOM 3 oficial release, they can do more better than this beta is! Because in fact SOCOM 2 is better than SOCOM 3 Beta...
Nothing to decease..

Thanks for the info. I think i'll wait for the release since I think now that is not going to be a valid dnas id for a while. Im not that impatient, I'll wait for the release.

Well anyone who is interested still, I have the last 3 segments of the game ID. This is what I used to patch my game and I successfully got online with it (But was told I was cheating and was promptly kicked off).

beta versions are full of bugs, dont worry it will be worked out...people lie your friend are doign beta to do exactly nothign more than tell them about the bugs...if he doesnt contact the developers abotu what he find then the game will be horrible

Ok all of you people are noobs, you cant back up socom 2 or 3 online no matter what procedure you use because even if you insert a right dnas id the GAME will accuse you of having a cheating device, no matter what n e 1 says you can not make a BACKUP copy om socom 2 or 3 that would work online, you can however Make a backup that wont work online and play it offline.
SO IF YOU WANT TO PLAY SOCOM ONLINE YOU WILL HAVE TO BUY THE GAME

Is there a point where the game spins down where u could use a fliptop and just shove the backup into it?
