How many roms fit on a CD-R? and what do the letters next to the roms stand for?

Hello I was looking for this info for a while and could not find it.

I want to know what the letters next to the roms stand for (U) (J) PD E! etc.

Also I wanted to know how many gensis games and snes can fit on a cd-r?

U and J are for USA or Japan. How Many on a CD - uhm depends on the roms, but i believe it's in the thousands. atleast for snes roms i believe the same would be true for the genesis, i know on torrent sites you used to be able to find all snes roms in a rar, but i'm not sure if that's still floating around.

You should be able to find the meanings of the symbols at the website you found the roms. I think I do remember that ! means its a good version of the rom (if there are others) and stuff like T-Eng and T-Ger mean it is translated into that language. Most european versions of games will be in English (but oddly enough there are some in Japanese that were released in Europe).

Yeah your right about the roms in the Rar. on the torrent site
Also limewire got some.
Thousands fit wow, well I put about 200 hundred on a disk and most of the roms worked. Months ago I was doing the nes roms and the guide I was useing told me to only put 20 on each disk so now Im stuck with 50 discs with 20 games on each wish I new this info months ago. thanks again
