I just checked by burning a game, and yes, it doesn't work. I didn't notice that until now. Does anybody know how to format a PS1 disc to be able to work with Swap Magic (or just make it work with Swap Magic)?
PS1 games do not work with Swap Magic and I don't think that you can format a PS1 game to work with swap magic. In order to play back up PS1 games on your PS2 you need to get (buy) a program called Breaker Pro CD (v1.1).
check out www.ps2kits.co.uk they sell breaker pro for £12.50 and they give free delivery, I have used it and it works great for playing ps1 backups.....
Lol, I just found out today that swap magic cd doesn't play ps1 games. I wasted like 20 cd-rs! Does anyone know any good places to get breaker pro NTSC cheap ?
I would reccomend you get in touch with Techwizad at www.techwizad.com if you live in Europe and want a solution to play your ps1 back ups, they can help you out.
lol. I dont work for techwizad but all i can say is i dont mind paying the little bit extra for the good service i get of them, plus the fact they have been around for a while and know what they are talking about.i checked out ps2kits and they look pretty amateurish to me, but just my opinion.
I have bought from them in the past and I sell their products on....they have always given me a professional service, with goods arriving within 48 hours and they give a 4 hour reply to e-mails......just out of interest what don't you like about their store because I am thinking about setting up a store and I would like to get some independent feedback....
Just go here: http://store.videogamecentral.com/psgali.html They have a Gameshark Lite for $2.99 which works as well as a Breaker Pro but with cheating capabilities. Just start game with or without codes and instead of pressing the eject tray (which would reset the PS2's search for "officialness" of the disc) swap it using a slide card or fliptop with the PS1 backup and it should work (because the PS2 is still under the impression that it is an official PS1 disc. I also read you can do the same with Gameshark versions 2 and below for PS1.
BTW I read all of this information from other posts, so correct me if I'm wrong because I also am planning to buy the Gameshark Lite but don't want to to not work (don't need two gamesharks because I already have a PS1 v5 Gameshark that DOESN'T work with backups).
