A couple of months ago I traded in my Swap Magic 2.0(which always worked fine, but I needed God of War to boot easier) for a newer Swap Magic 3.6. This worked flawlessly for me for almost three months until lately when it stopped. A while ago my CD Swap Magic stopped working and started have the "Disc Read Error" so I just converted my CDs to DVDs. But now, my DVD Swap Magic is doing weird things. Usually it spins and then looks like its going to boot(goes to a black screen and sometimes says the Playstation 2 thing) and then goes back to the PS2 boot screen for a fraction of a second and goes to the red "Please Insert a Playstation or Playstation 2 Format Disc" screen. Or it looks like its going to load and just goes and stays at the PS2 boot screen and shows the Playstation 2 Disc thing next to the Memory Card thing. If I try to boot the disc again it just does the same thing. I got it working like, twice when I put in my CD Swap Magic then when that said Disc Read Error replacing that with the DVD Swap Magic. But that stopped working, too. Does anybody have any help?

I once had this problem.

Using my fliptop, i applied extra weight on top of the part the disk sits under.

NOTE: Do at your own risk. It only works sometimes, and I am not to blame for any damage.

Thats the public service message over with.

3 problems it might be.

1.you need to clean discs and make sure there isnt any scratches on them

2.clean your ps2 lens with a cotton swab(q-tip) and rubbing alcohol.

3.when you put the disc in the ps2 give it a spin to make sure it spins freely.

Does this problem also occur when you play original PS2 games?

Blaze 91,

You don't say what discs you're using. But if you are using cheapo discs you may be better off to invest a few extra $$ and get some better discs such as Verbatim or Ritek. I often buy games from Thailand which are usually burnt of alcheapo discs and they often don't work too good. But when I back these games up on Riteks they work fine.

No I get the same problem dude with Swap Magic 3.6 if I boot my ps2 from when it was off with the swap disc in it will most likely be a 50% chance it will give me a disc read error. But when I go to the browser where u can see the pic of ur memory card and reinsert the swap disc it works fine. My hd advance 2.0 did the samething and I had to put it in the same method.
