Hi guys,

I've googled my problem, and looked on swapmagicfix.com for help regarding backing up XIII for ps2. First of all, i'm using a v9 ps2 with swap magic 3.3. I've backed up about 60 or so games so far, so i know what i'm doing. I just have a problem with XIII for ps2. I rip it and burn it with DVD decrypter set at 2.4x burning speed. When i swap my backup for the boot disk, i get a black screen, then it goes to the "reading disk/checking memory card"screen. Anyone have any ideas? My ps2 is about 6 mos. old, and i don't have this problem on any other of my backups, so i don't think it's my laser. Can anyone help me out on getting it to play? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You may need to make another iso from an unscratched original. I ripped and play this game no problem. No smfix required.

unscratched original? the copy i ripped from was a little bit scratched, but nothing major. could that have something to do with it? i was thinking that maybe it was the media i'm using??? i've never had any problems with any of the media i've used to date(and i always use the same brand) should i look towards using another brand, or try to get my hands on an unscratched original?

If it helps, my working rip is on fujifilm DVD+R but it's old, made when the game was first out. When I've had this problem, it was a bad rip. A fresh iso and/or a slow write speed might fix it.
