I'm trying to make a copy of a copy. To make a long story short I lost a friends GT4 original disk. He's chipped so a copy replacement is fine with him. But to date I have never successfully made a DVD9 copy. (expensive mistakes) A friend of mine made me a copy of GT4 on my system, but there was a party going on so I didn't pay complete attention to how he did it. However, I know I have the tools cause he used my system and DL media to do it. I think he used his copied GT4 disk to do it.
To keep things legal my friend who made me a copy has an original and I don't play mine. I just like the challenge.
So now my questions;
Is the DVD9 copied version of GT4 I have a carbon copy of the original?
Is making a copy of a copy any different in procedure or end quality? I'm guessing not.
I have DVD Decrypter and Alcohol 120 at my disposal. Last night I tried to make an ISO with DVDDe but when I tried to apply the toxic patch it failed. I'm guessing my ISO was not setup right. But there are so many freakin options in DVDDe I don't know how to set it up.
Can someone give me some advice either in this thread or via PM about how to make a DVD9 ISO?
if you are making a copy of a copy of gt4,i think the toxic patch should already be on there.so i would guess you just burn the iso you made with decrypter.though im not certain on this.DVD9 media is so expensive,you wouldnt want to be guessing what would work.i dont think too many people have experience with DVD9 media and ps2 games.
gt4 can put onto DVD5 now with a rip tool.but if your iso has the toxic patch on it i dont know if it would work.you could give it a shot seeing as though DVD5 is much cheaper to mess around with.the DVD5 rip is missing some movie scenes but all the gameplay is on it.
I lost this guys original disk. I can't give him a DVD5 version. I have to give him a full version replacement. But thanks for the advice. That's a good thought about the patch already being there.
Does anyone make an emulater that can test ISO's before burning them and trying them on an actual PS2?
Quote:I have to give him a full version replacement.
lets hope his chip can boot DVD-9 then,not all of them can,only the DMS4,and the matrix infinity can(flashed),as i am aware.
there may be others,but i am yet to hear about them
I have the matrix and he has either that or the DMS pro. I told him what to get, I just don't remember which one he picked. But he should be good to go foir DVD9.
Correct but everyone I've talked to has made copies from the original. But I'm making a copy of a copy. My copy already has the patch applied. So I'm wondering if that's why it is failing?
