Back in around February, I heard about a tape-mod for the slim PStwo. I heard it caused some problems, so I decided to order two "Ghost" clips that would let me use Swap Magic. Well, when I put them in, the PStwo didn't work even with original PS2 games, so I took them out. Recently I decided to try putting them in again, and once again the PStwo didn't work at all. However, this time even when I take them out the PStwo doesn't play any games. It just stays at the Browser menu.
I am going to return the PStwo and get a new one, but I still want to use backup games. Does the tape-mod still work without problems? If not, are there any other free ways to get Swap Magic to work? I do not want to spend even more money on another method that may not even work.

So basically what you want to achieve is something similar to the Swap Tools then? I don't use a swap method, but from the looks of it, I don't think plain tape is going to be enough to emulate those Swap Tools... just take a look at www.swapmagic3.com

My ghost clips are similar to those except there are only two that go on the inside of the console... and they just broke my PStwo. Maybe those work better, but like I said, I don't want to spend any more on this.
I'm positive I read here that all you needed was tape (I think) to mod the PStwo. Does anyone know how to do this?

I dont have the SM Discs, but ive been trying to get AR to work and of course the disk never stops spinning. Swap magic does make it stop right? Anyways, a very cheap way to do what you want is to get a straw(I have a bunch of those colorful flex kind for my kids) and cut 2 small pieced off of the end. You then fold the straw twice so that the hole is doubled up and you slide 1 into the disc break to hold it open and one down beside the door catch on the back leftside. then you can use a piece of toothpick straw or what ever else you can find small and tape down the front sensor on the right. If you disc doesnt start spinning move the straw in the back left a little bit, pull it up and slide it back down. it will eventually make the switch and you will be set. You may have to trim the straws a bit to get the door to close. Im not worried about that right now cuz im still trying to figure out how to swap with out SM.

no what I mean is i just use a original instead of a swap disk
once u have the playstation think the lid is close You put the original in and wait for the logo to come up and then you QUICKLY
take out the original and but the backup in so what i meant was
that i dont use a swap disk.
