new to making DVD's and have tried to use SNAGIT from techsmith to capture my screen and convert the size to 720x540 or 720x480 and then import them to programs like Roxio 7.5 or Canopus Imaginate.. then to Roxio.. but they do not display fully on dvd player.. know about the 20% TV non-displayed area, have tried chging image with Adobe 720x540 to 720x480 with constrain off, and then importing still does not show the inside of a 20% bordered area.. always shows less by about 5-10% more..

Can anyone suggest a photo size that will import well for 4:3 dvd's ?

like I said new to this making DVD's business.. want to convert my Flash movies to DVD's and have all the material clear and viewable..

I'm not real familiar with this area, but I can give you the sizes of some still images that are available for shrink to use as title replacements. They may or may not help in your case....
720x528(default image in shrink)
720x480
720x576
1024x576
800x475

Like I said, not sure if it'll help at all, but it seems yours should be ok from some of the sizes listed here. Seems something other than the image size is the culprit.

Thank you for your reply, hope to hear from others what seems to be the standard perhaps in use by those who import still images to make a dvd..

Along with this is the problem that there is a fuzziness when the dvd is made or previewed in roxio 7.5..

Suspect this is roxio not converting to dvd with quality, or me not setting up the image correctly for that conversion.. images are sharp and clear in adobe..

One writer suggested using gausing blur of very small amounts, but when I tried it just made it worse..

I plan to try some more this weekend when have a block of time to do so..
