Ive been using an external burner for some time now, never any problem, but i now have a new laptop, i went to burn a dvd, and DVD shrink appeared that the dvd would fit onto a standar dvdr, but when encoding finished, it asked me for a dual layered dvd, this is odd, how do i fix this problem?

Thank you bbmayo, that most certainly did the trick.
If i could trouble you with one more question however. On my old pc, i decided to defrag drive c, apparently, all of the material i copied in the past was still on it? I was sure i deleted them permanently, how can you be sure to permanently delete items you were copying?
Just make sure you notice where Shrink, Decrypter is storing these files. Thats another good reason to go ahead and back it up to your hard drive first anyway then you know exactly where the files are stored and you can delete them yourself. Also if you happen to have Norton installed you want to check you protected recycle bin as a lot of people forget about that ;-)

It's oddly doing the same thing now even when backing up to hardrive, asking for a dual layered dvd. This is even with DVD's that could have fitted onto a single 4.7 disc before...?
BBmayo, have you any idea on how to solve this problem? As in it worked with your first solution (backing up to hardrive, then burning with nero), but now that method is also asking for a dual layered DVD.
Also before encoding with shrink, it doesnt warn me of an overload?
