Hi all. I was hoping someone could help me out here. I know it's possible to put short excerpts from about 20 different movies onto one DVD with no compression with Shrink. Problem is, I don't know how to do it. I'm trying to put together a "demo disk" to show off my new 106" front projection tv. I just want several different sections from different movies to play through on one disk. If there's any way to have them fade in and out, that would be even better. Also, I have access to Clone DVD (or which ever one is from Slysoft) if that helps. Thanks in advance.

You can use Shrink to make and assemble the clips although you will not be able to do the fade transitions between the clips. The fades will require an editing program, which usually have a "library" of transitions and other types of effects you can apply.

The biggest issue when doing this is that in most cases some file conversions have to take place.

I made a couple of flash presentations on assembling some clips using Shrink:

Adding fade transitions..
Nerovision Express 3 accepts your .vobs without any kind of conversion so that may be the way to go. Once you have the clips on your hard drive it is just a matter of loading them into NVE3 and adding the transitions. You can also add text effects and a few other effects as well.

I'd recommend you start small and simply assemble two or three short clips until you get the process down.

I made another guide using Nerovision Express 3 that you may want to look at:

The process is somewhat similar to what you want to do.

If you don't want to use Nero then you could always use Windows Movie Maker. That would require DVD to .avi conversion. WMM does not allow you to import .vobs. Then you would have to convert the completed WMM project back to DVD-Video to get it onto a DVD.
