How will we mod a new ps3 for USA versions? Is there any way at all the sony company could be able to disable all modding possible on their console? Anything is possible....

We won't know until it comes out. I can pretty much gaurantee they can't stop peple from booting backups. Somebody will find a way to make them work.

When I get mine I'm going to open it up and void the warranty! and see if I can get my SM disk in their some how, but from what I read SM doesn't work slimline PS2's so PS3 shouldn't either?

the swap magic discs will probably work just fine on it, but they do not have a large enough TOC to play anything except dvd-rom games, and most ps3 games will be blu-ray discs or atleast dual-layered dvd discs. so it won't be very useful to you, it seems possible for swap magic to make new products though. just don't expect anything to happen right away. it usually takes a while into the console's lifespan until mods are developed and have worked out the kinks, which is why I probably won't be buying the ps3 until quite a while after it releases

i can all but guarantee SM will not work with the PS3. Sony, just like MS, has seen the issues with game copy protection and i'm sure they'll devise some sort of hardware that will perform just as in the XBox 360, protecting on against copied games on the platform's physical level.

They already made a mod for the xbox 360 and its not even released, so when the ps3 cbecomes more open like the xbox360 modders will have it on there hands and start modding away

I think you might be a little confused. I see nothing saying they've already made a chip for it, even on their official site.
Edit: Eh, I saw the picture, but they provided no information, and this is only based on a developer's kit... not the real xbox 360. You are reading too much into it.

Haha, they haven't said anything about it though. It might not work at all on a real system. The devkits are different.

Out of all the modding possiblities available, i'd rather wait for the folks over at DMS to make something for the both consoles.
To tell you the truth, the only deciding factors I want for choosing which console to buy are:
-Franchises (who gets my favorite games first)
-Power (Which one can give me better gaming performance and not make me miss the PC so much)
-Features (who has the features that I will most likely use)
Original games in my country are too expensive for me to be sticking it in my console and lending it out and all that. I want to back up and play!
I hope DMS makes a solderless solution for both so that when it's time to make a choice, it'll be easier for me.
