What format to use for PSX backups?

I use a BreakerPro on my PS2 and with every one of my PSX backups, it never works. It always stays at the "Booting disc" page. And never reaches the game, I have a feeling this has to do with the CD-R not having the right format burnt to it, with the Game's files. Can anyone tell me what is the problem? And can you tell me what format to use when I do backup my games?

You dont have to "format" anything, just put the original in the D: drive and a blank cd-r in (whatever your burner drive is" then open up Nero and press copy disc. This will make an exact copy of what is on the original.

Boot up breaker pro, swap it for the backup and play.

Do you use a Breaker Pro PS2 disc or Breaker Pro for the PS1?
