There are Lots of Programs that will make a DVD with Selectable Subtitles and even Multiple subtitles of Different Languages...
I personally Like "MediaChance DVDLab Pro" but there are others Like "Ulead DVD Workshop 2.0" and "Sonic ReelDVD" and "Sonic DVD Producer" and "DVD Composer" and I think even the Newest "VSO DivXtoDVD" (The Pay Version) has subtitle support....
You will also get Better results if you use a seperate Standalone Mpeg-2 encoder to encode your Files to Mpeg-2 before authoring to DVD as the encoders Built into DVD Authoring Programs are not very Good Quality...Of the Programs I just Mentiones "Mediachance DVDLab pro" and "DVD Composer" do not have a Built in Mpeg-2 encoder so you would have to use a seperate encoder with these Programs but the others Have Built in encoders...
Also There are Very Few or maybe even No DVD authoring Programs that will support RM or RMVB Files, This is Probably because the RM format can not be Accessed by Direct Show or Video For Windows Codecs so support for this Format would have to be Precificly Built into the Program which means Paying Licensing Fees to Real media which Software developers do not want to do and RM files especially Low Resolution Streaming RM files are generally Pretty low Quality and will produce low Quality DVD"s....
I also use DVDlab pro. Trying to insert at least a aubtitle in a new compilation I performed the folloeing tasks:
(1). I riped the original dvd in my hd
(2). I used IFO edit to rip audio, video and subtitles in separate files.
(3). I tried to insert the subtitle file in DVDlab but the format was not recognizws by the app. The same happened using subrip.
For the test I used the following parameters.
Title: Blazing Saddles, audio: English AC3 6 ch. subtitle set: Greek

I have converted from .sup to .srt this very same afternoon using Subtitle Workshop. The new .srt file has just been added to my DVDLab Pro compilation and being burnt right now!
well, using DVD architect (sony)
and Urusoft's "Subtitle Workshop"
Try this:
(1) Load your subtitles on "Subtitle Workshop| and save them as SonicDVD Creator (*.sub) (
2) Open the result in MS Word, choose SAVE AS plain text (*.txt), change your file ending to .sub and click SAVE
3) A File conversion window pops up, and under Options choose "End lines with LF-only".
U shouldn't have any format problems with subtitles but, only if you use DVD architect.
But in any case "Subtitle workshop" should help u in the process path.
I demuxed the subtitle with the aid of vobedit an the produced file has the extension .sup, which as I noticed trying to open the above mentionrd file is not supported by subtitle workshop application.
So I cannot proceed.
Is there any alternative solution?
I demuxed the subtitles to a .sup file which I can insert to srt2sup application, but don't know how to save to an .srt file
need more help about this procedure
