i got action replay max. it says it has an emulator (Dgen) to play genesis roms. i used the PC software and followed the directions (add roms, insert emulator, etc) and burned it as a ps2 disc. it says to pick media player and insert disc and the emu menu would pop up. i cant get it to work. ive try inserting disc in main menu then pick media player, loading media player and then inserting disc (no dgen menu), and ive tried doing the second thing and going to launch game and it still doesnt work. ive gotten video files to work, but for some reason the emu wont. what am i doing wrong?
btw, i have a pstwo (slim ps2) if that matters at all.
Your not getting any help because your calling it 'dgen', btw its 'pgen'. You are doing everything right but first make sure you have the latest version of max media creator from the codejunkies website. then before you burn the c.d, next to burn speed you should have some compatibilty settings try altering them to alternate 1. If this still doesn't work try 'alternate 2'. Put the emulator first in the list aswell. Then boot it like you were doing first. Also don't expect people to help you immediately, this forum is written in peoples spare time people have got to go to work etc.
dgen, pgen..haha got confused. sorry, didnt mean to sound like an ahole. i was thinking about that alt but i didnt know. also bought it at gamestop and their "7 day warranty". thanks for the help, ill try it out.
I've heard rumors that the slimline doesn't always work right with the AR Max Evo, or media player. I don't remember where I read that, some FAQ on it, said v9's and slimlines don't work right. Personally, I just picked up a used one that's pretty old (actually needed the CD to load up the network card) and it runs everything great! I have a 60 gig hard drive that loads with freeloader off of the AR's pendrive, and I have the Pgen working just fine in the emulator. Another good trick for burning those disks is to have Max Media Creator save to an .ISO file and then use DVD Decrypter to burn it to CD-R. My MMC doesn't even detect my DVD burner, so that's how I have to do it, and no probs yet. Also, get SNES Station, and rename it's .elf to Autoexec.elf, and you can use MMC to make playable SNES rom disks, too.
Have you tried using your pendrive? That's how I do my HDLoader. All you have to do is put it in your PC's USB port (if you're using Windows XP, it automatically sees it and makes it a drive). Go to your MMC directory and find Autoexec.elf and copy it over to the root directory on the pendrive, and copy a few roms in there as well, when you boot AR Media Player, have the pendrive in, cuz that's the first place it looks and will autorun the PGen elf off of it. I think PGen can play roms off of the pendrive...
