If you have a slim line I would suggest a Matrix Infinity - it doesn't put as much stress on your laser as the DMS4 Pro. The Matrix Infinity will play all back ups including 1:1 DL back ups of games such as GT4, God of War etc...Plus the makers of Matrix Infinity regularly release firmware updates.

Infinity gets the thumbs up in my book if its for a slimline but i bought the DMS4 from www.techwizad.com for my playstation but i do have the old style one, if you can afford it buy a solderless mod chip.

They Matrix Infinity and DMS4 Pro or DMS4 Lite
are your top 3 choices. Any of those will work great
all release flash upgrades, although i think the Toxic
team (DMS chips) does it better and faster. They even released
a patch for people who have lesser chips that are
DVD9 (dual layer) ready so they can patch games on DVD9
and play them.
Also check into getting a laser fix installed.
Summone or Comsoft are the top 2, it is worth the
extra $10 it will cost.

I have the DMS4 Pro and Summone Laser Fix in my slim PSTwo
and have not had any problems with mine in the past
8-9 months that i have had it. Let me rephrase
the only problem i had was that i could not get 2 games (PAL)
to play on my system (NTSC)
But all the other PAL games worked just fine.
