I have a 2.1 ghz p4 hp pc with a gig of ram. I have 2 drives, a dvd-rom and a ricoh dvd+r drive. My rom drive is capable of reading 8x, why on EARTH does it take me 2 hours simply to encode a dvd? (the dvd is only 6.5 gb anyway) Now, while im encoding it says the rate is 1,226 kb/s
and the buffered is 59.

I have tried several ram optimization programs and i get nothing.

Try this. Defragment ya harddrive esicially if ya delete and install a lot of crap. Try to free some space u on the hardrive. Third is open up task manager ctrl-alt-delete (at the same time). See how many processes ya have running. I got about 26 running including zone alrm. So if you have more than that ya have a virus or something running eating resourcse. Try to elimate rograms that are running you dont need especially virus software which eats a lot of resources. Post back with whatever ya running...so we could figure out how to optimize ya comp.

Download ToniArts Easy Cleaner, and then clean out your registry of all of dvd shrinks invalid entries that it leaves behind, mostly "recent targets"
