I have been burning my videos with dvd decrypter for awhile now and everything has been going great. I was burning onto dvd-r dvd's. Recently out of the blue, i get an error saying (Medium Not Present) at the bottom. I have not changed dvd's and i tryed using an old .iso i burned before and that didnt work. I have a windows xp, service pack 2...
please help me, its really frustrating :(

I have had the same exact problem... I have a sony burner and I'm using sony DVD+R... so there shouldn't be a conflict. Is it a software thing? I uninstalled then reinstalled the driver and that worked for a bit. Then today it started messing up again.
Thanks in advance,
Janice

My suggestion would be to make sure your firmware is up to date on your burner. This error usually means decrypter is not recognizing the blank disc.
Douglas02- what branch of blank disc are you using?
Jivesaint - Sony is good stuff.

Decrypter always opens saying this. Are you trying to rip and receive this afer the disc is in or when burning in iso receive this after the blank is inserted

There is no disk in my E: drive. I restart, and the first thing i do is try and open it up, and it gives me Medium Not Present. I also try it with Nero, and it says i need to insert a DVD-R, which i have one in. I dont get it, i was buring everything just fine with my DVD-R disks from Memorex.

Oh no Memerox! Imo they suck. They use poor quality manufacturers. Definitely update your firmware if it isn't. Not matter what swtich to some qulaity media like Taiyo Yuden or VerbatimDataLifePlus. That should fix your problem. You probably got a batch that has some good and bad discs. It's happened to me.

Well How do i update my firmware??? I burned a .iso a month ago and it went smoothly. I tryed that SAME .iso tonight and it say Medium Not Present. Do you think it could be the discs? Ill try and getting some new ones i guess...

To update your firmware you need to flash your drive. You can go to the manufacturers website and see if any new ones are available. They will usually have instructions on how to do it. Basically dl a file, close all apps, make sure no discs in drive, run the .exe file and reboot.
In decrypter you can go to Tools>Drive>Check for Firmware Updates. This will take you to the firmware page and you can update from there.
If you need further help post back.

No prob - Glad you got it working. Your burner didn't like the media so this is where a firmware update can help.
But do yourself a favor- dump those memerox - they will cause problems even after the movie is burned. Switch to the ones I mentioned above. I buy my discs from:http://www.supermediastore.com/
