i tried using both prog alcohol and DVD Decrypter it can't read the disc...it blinks for awhile like its trying to read and then no work...i'm trying to "backup" the ps2 disc

make sure there is no scratches or smudge marks on the disc.

the disc is not scratch..its in good condition...i'm using an external dvd burner...does that make any differences??? its by plextor

You did remember to set DVD Decrypter to iso read didn't you?

That's the only thing I can think of.. apart from aspi problems, but if you had problems with aspi then you'd get error messages when it tries to read from drives or wouldn't find the drives even.

Just go to <mode> in decrypters toolbar and then <ISO> ---> read

just trying to learn so i was using my old ps2 game...time crisis 3
i dont' know what kind of dvd i'm using...no labels on them and i threw away the cover...burner is plextor...most of the time i'm using blank dvd from something that starts with "Kr" something...

Is timecrisis a cd based game... look on the disc to see if it says dvd or compact disc?

dvd decrypter is only for dvd based games. for cd games you can just backup by doing a cd copy in Nero or whatever the same as you do for music cd's.

yes, and get some good media. You will have problems
using some no name brand. They will most likely work
for movies, but not games.
Try doing a movie with them and see if that works.
you also have not said how your PS2 is modded?
If it is stock (strait out of the box) then it will
not play back up games. It will play back up movies.
