I have some verbatim dvd-r 16x.
ID: MCC 03RG20
I tried to backup god of war, i did the process right according to a guide.
However, in game, some videos skip and the sound in the backround skips... like a broken record.
Are these problems caused by faulty media or a bad burn?

You may need to go to the game forum for more suggestions (I don't backup games) but I have heard you need to burn games very slow like 1x or 2x.

hmmmm. found it on page 29 eventually.
anyway, you say you used Nero. If so, and it was done recently, it'll be in your Nero log. post relevant section of your Nero log which is in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log, but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar

Quote: Nero version: 6.0.0.0
- wow, that's far too ancient
Quote: Recorder: <_NEC DVD+-RW ND-6500A> Version: 202C
- see this thread here about halfway down the page where someone has the same drive/same firmware level - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/2/186923 are you using a Dell PC, and did the burner come with the pc (am trying to work out if your burner's firmware is up to date or not)
Quote: Connected to MMC as unknown drive with class-nr : 1
Drive is autodetected - recorder class: Std. MMC recorder
- yup, Nero's too old to recognise your burner correctly
ps the logfile is incomplete, but it's a good start. post the rest of this section of log if you have it. If you haven't, you could do a 'simulation burn' to make Nero go thru the motions, it'll ask for a blank disc but won't write to it, and it'll write a new log entry, you could then post that...
