Problem w/ Ripping

Ok...Here's my problem. Ive been backing up movies fine for a while now. But lateley its been messing up. Ive been using Dvd Decripter and dvd shrink. They are all up to date. For instance I got oceans 11, and that would get all kinds of read errors about 40% done in ripping thru dvd decripter. I have been trying to use Smart ripper latley. But it told me to d/l aspi versions and i did. It paused and started to fuck up at the same localtion in the ripping process w/ using dvd dycripter. So it said to use power dvd and play like 3-5 minutes and hit pause and then try it. Tryied it and it didnt work. It also said to got thru the chapters and then try, same result. Ive tried ripping an iso instead of files. Same results.

But ok this is the topper, I just got Sin City today and tried to back it up and it worked using dvd dycripter. It has the newest copy protect shit on it and it worked. Its a layer 2 disc and it worked. Ive tried to rip oceans 11 and entourage season 1 disc 1 and it didnt work. But disc 2 worked. Its very sparatic, thats whats so frustrating. Someone help me.

All the errors Ive had has been read errors, but they all start to rip but get errors about 30-40% of the way thru it.

Ive tried all of these, if im missing something someone please suggest something. Some brand new dvd's work, some dont. Some older dvd's work, some dont. I dont get it.

Oh yea I almost forgot. Another pg said to replace your WNASPI32.DLL file in your windows/system or your windows/system32 folder w/ the one in your Nero directory. Did that and it still didnt work.

Im not really sure what region it is, Does the region matter??? I bought it in the same store I buy all my dvd's. I had this problem so far w/ catch me if you can, entourage season 1 disc 1, and oceans 11. Oceans 12 worked fine. It just seems like every so often discs dont want to burn.

Catch me if you can is region 1, 4 - RCE protection - NO

I too am experiencing problems with ripping entourage season 1 disc 1. i tried it with shrink and decryptor. disc 2 ripped fine. anybody with success or help?

It sounds like it's probably a dirty,scratched disc or a bad press. If decrypter can't do it probably nothing else can. Try cleaning off the disc. Next I would try ripping in iso mode in decrypter - if compression is need - open the disc image in shrink to compress.
If these fail you'll need to exchange it for a new one.

You can also try checking the ignore read errors in decrypter settings in case of a bad or damaged disk and see if that helps.
