neilm: Interesting. I've compared prices always to Germany and prices, even tho the retail prices (before taxes) in Finland are lowest in the EU, even the cheapo cars cost 5000-9000 euros less. Like the most basic model of Corolla Verso starts in Finland from 25,600 euros and in Germany, from 19,600 euros.
And more expensive the cars get, bigger the difference:
Land Cruiser 100 in Germany: 57,800 euros
Land Cruiser 100 in Finland: 107,900 euros
I'd suspect that you guys "driving on the wrong side of the road" might have something to do with the high MSRPs (smaller volume, UK has too high income level -- easy to squeeze few extra pounds out and make rest of the "wrong siders" suffer, etc ;-)...

Feeling your pain - filled up again today $2.96 in MD but go 10-15 miles to DC and it's $3.65! I think I need to rethink not paying attention to gas mileage when I buy a car!

this aint funny at all, it went up over night here in south texas .39 cents................ OVERNIGHT
it was 2.33 @ wal mart with the 3 cent off card, totalled 2.30 even, then went to 2.69... i drove down the way a bit, sams has their 5 cents off being a member, but friggin gas there was jacked up to compensate for the difference, it was 2.74 without card, and 2.69 with card... drove down to next gas station, found valero (aka diamond shamrock) @ 2.65, so i filled up there. crap, it only takes 13.5 gallons to fill my car, but filling up now a days in my car is costing near 40 dollars. my wife's suv.......omg, i am gonna be sick :( :( :( :(..... over 60 dollars. i feel sorry for those of you who have larger tanks and where the cost is higher, but i heard that by saturday, katrina's toll will make gas here go to over 3 bucks a gallon.

I do 50miles a day, which equates to filling up twice a month, that's £100 a month, a few months ago that same fuel was £80 a month. Greed, greed, greed is all I can say

I am in northern VA and it went from $2.79 to $2.97 for 87 yesterday as I was pumping!!! I only had to pay the $2.79, but this is crazy -- it's nothing but greed. I have an 80 mile r/t commute and my truck gets 20-21 mpg (which is not bad for a truck), so it cost me about $12.00 to go to work today. I keep telling my wife that I need to retire because it's costing a fortune to go to work.

This pisses me off that they raise gas prices to 50 cents and higher for a disaster caused of a storm....then when all is good they only lower the price by a couple of cents...why?
This storm "KATRINA" has nothing to do with the west coast and yet our prices are just as high as the east coast and through out the country. this makes no sense to me.
