hello all! i was looking at a previous thread that stated how to burn ps2 games. i followed the instructions, but i ran into a few problems. i am using dvd decreypter for this. first, i open dvd decrypter and then i insert the ps2 game into the dvd burner. i go to mode>iso>read and then click decrypt. when it was done and i went to eject the disk it would not let me open the dvd burner. i had to turn it off and then take it out. i don't know why this happened. then i inserted a blank dvd and went to mode>iso>write. when it was done i removed it and went to my ps2. i inserted the game and there was a message on the screen that read: Please insert a playstation formatted disc. I don't know if I did something wrong or perhaps there are other methods to burn the game or maybe i need some other device or chip. please help!!!!! and if you have a list of steps that say exactly how to burn the game please provide them. thank you.

I've tried copying ps2 games with dvddecrypter, but they never work. The only games that work are the ones I copy with Alcohol120, maybe because they have mdf and mds files, rather than iso and mds like dvddecrypter rips.
The only problem with that is, there's no way to do dual-layered gemes shrunk down with alcohol120, cuz it's a strictly 1:1 ripper - same size as the original.

http://home.earthlink.net/~moderator/id3.html full DVD Decrypter instructions
once the read is done you should be able to eject the
original, not sure why you can't
and make sure you burn the MDS file, not the ISO
as far as what you need. Your PS2 needs to be modded in some way to
play your back ups. What version do you have?
the someone can tell you what you need.
best bet for any version is Swap Magic
and a flip top. A mod chip is the best but you will
spend a bit more on a good one.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INSTRUCTIONS. YOUR WEB SITE IS GREAT. CAN YOU TELL ME HOW I CAN TELL WHAT VERSION OF PS2 I HAVE? AND I WAS JUST WONDERING IF YOU SUGGEST THAT I JUST PURCHASE THE FLIP TOP WITH SWAP MAGIC OR SHOULD I GO AHEAD AND GET A MOD CHIP? THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP.

sure, as long as you stop shouting at me (all caps)
if you have the money get a modchip installed
DMS4 Pro, DMS4 Lite, Matrix Infinity or even DMS4 EZI Solderless
it is the best of the bst when it comes to PS2 mods
PS2 versions are here
http://www.clearxbox.com/site/pages/version.html
But if you have less money, or do not feel like sending your
PS2 out to have a modchip installed then Swap Magic and a fliptop
are your best bet. Modchips are just better because they can do a little more and no swapping discs needed.
read up on the mod chips i listed here
