Patching a PAL Action Replay to NTSC?

Anyone had any success, or is this gonna just be a coaster and waste of time?

I need a 1.99 or 2.00 GS or AR to boot PS1 CDs. Can't find anything but 2.01 for GS, but I found a 2.00 AR PAL.

Will using PAL2NTSC work on a PAL AR?

It should only be adjusting screen rate so
i figure it should work as long as it is an ISO file
