I have a slim ps2, and i would like to add a hard drive to it to load games onto. Should i buy a usb hard drive and the appropriate software? Is it comatible with many games or should i just get an old ps2 and add an hard drive to that?

Old is easier and more compatible but you can get a usb HD and usbadvance or extreme and run games that way. I used action replay evo's media player to run usbadvance.elf from my thumbdrive and then run games off of my 160GB Iomega USB harddrive.

dont know bout the older systems cuz i havent gotten mine yet but theyve been doing it longer so you can be sure its more likely to work. as for the USB on the slimline, I have the 70012 and so far ive only tried Gran Turismo 3 and Suzuki TT superbikes. Ive also ran alot of homebrew cd images and DVDloaderV7, which i can play backup PS2 CD's but not DVD's.
