Well it may not be the media thats bad, TDK and maxell are respected brands. What exactly is the trouble you are having? How are you burning the discs? What speed are you burning at?

My ps2 just wont read the disc. But the red 'Insert a disc' thing doesn't appear <--like a few of my friends ps2 say.
Mine simply says 'Unable to read disc'

I have a Matrix Infinity mod chip. Burned the games with DVD Decrypter at 2x speed!! I burned it as an .iso, which I understood is how you're supposed to do it

But what would be the best DVD to burn on?

BTW, i just remembered something

We might have patched the .iso twice, do u think this could have something to do with it not working?

TDK, Verbatim, Ritek G04, Philips
But the TDK discs you have should work.
Try burning at 4X as suggested above.
Redo the whole process if you think you patched it twice
With DVD Decrypter when you do the ISO write
select the MDS file, not the ISO file.

What game is it and why are you patching it?
Other than patching for online play you should not
have to patch or rebuild any game with a
Matrix Infinity chip.
