I have been trying to do the memory card exploit for a day now and have had major problems. I finally got it loaded and it recognizes the PS1 trigger disc - with Cogswap automatically loading. However, it seems like cogswap is not the best loader, it is real slow on CD discs and doesn't work when I try DVD discs (I used the instructions and files from swapmagic.com). I guess this only installed the Cogswap Elf file? Is there a better Loader to use. How do I add multiple programs at once? Do you just physically place them all in the "File" folder before you burn the CD? I have heard using something like ps2 menu will give you the option of switching between a media player, loaders, etc. What is the best way to load backups through the memory card exploit (my swap discs are dying). Can someone please help me out...

You need to use a DVD based game with a high TOC, such as GTA San Andreas or Tony Hawk Underground. When cogswap loader says PSX CDROM push eject, put in PS2 DVD game, wait for it to load, it should now say PS2 DVDrom, press X, now it should say use cogswap, and now you can use the slide card trick toload your game.
