Just posted this as a reply to some other thread but thought id be better making a new thread.
So I unpacked i WinRAR fullDVD PS2 file that contained all sorts of .afs's/.elf's/.dir's/.pss's and folders containing .irx's and .sys's among a few others. It did not though produce a .ISO.
So the question is (that i have been searching for for soooo long, with no progress) how do you put this onto a DVD to make it work on a PS2?
I have Nero but i tried putting the containg folder onto a DVD-R using Decryptor, no luck. I didnt create an ISO.
I take it i shouldnt use NERO to "burn a DVD image" as its not an DVD image, its just a bunch of files that makes the DVD.
Should i manuually add each and every file (and folder?) to NERO, but what NERO option to i pick? Btw, there are no .cue files in there, but there are a couple of .bin
I cant beleive how hard this info is to find, ive looked all over afterdawn and not found a great thread on it.
just make the image, then burn it. MagicISO will do it. That's the actual contents of the ps2 game, you need to make all of that into an iso first, then burn it.
open WinRAR first,then load in the rar file(see the option on the right hand side,(litle arrow pointing downwards)...find the rar file
then clcik "command"....then "view file"
the iso should be there
When i view file on the correct .rar the file says gamename.iso, but its in WinRAR format. Its not an .ISO even though its file name says .iso at the end.
there are .rar files numbered 00-24, but the guy said to open the on ewithout a number next to it. (i also tried it with oo and 01 just ot be sure.
thanks for you r help, ive solved the problem now. you were right i was extracting it too much. Its taken me 14 hours straight to figure that one out!!
to anyone else who has the problem, dont be put off if the .ISO has the WinRAR icon for it, it can still be "burned as an image to DVD" (using Nero, you dont need burning rom for this one) just selct the file (even though it looks like a .RAR file) and burn it onto your DVD-R.
