ok look inside and u should see a little white clip. thats what u need to get a hold of. push the card in, left side making sure to get the white peice in the hole in the slide card opening. slide to the right and pull. the tray will open and put the game in and push closed with your hand. dont hit eject. now put the slide card back in and attach to the white peice and slide to the left. thus your done and hit X.
To get use to it practise before try it with Sawp Magic.

Ok,
put in your swap magic disc, then when it says Load Program,
insert the slide tool about 2cms from the left of the tray and then with a firm grip push it to the right, the tray will come out a bit then you can pull it the rest of the way with your fingers (CAREFULLY)
Then take out your swap magic disc and put in your backup disc.
Now push the tray all the way back in from the left side for ease.
Now put the slide card back in from the left side and push to the right, when the tray pops out a bit go over a little bump and then once its hooked on the bump pull it back to the left, then press X or Square :)
If you need more help just ask :)

ok startup swap magic, then when it says load program, swapwith the backup game and close and lock the tray like i said earlier then hit x to boot the game. thats all
dont read this unless u understand the top part so it doesnt confuse you more:
if it is a PAL game u want to play on your NTSC ps2u need to switch the video modeto NTSC then swap with the PAL game and hit square for a special boot.

I'am not having trouble swaping disks, the problem is that when i put the white thing in the hole and i pull right its very hard to pull and then when i pull it the white thing goes off of the slide tool.

It's easy but it does take practise..try using the slide tool to open and close the tray without anything powered up till you get the knack..took me a while to get the skill without thinking I was gonna bust the thing..the white bit is the tray locking mech and can be quite stiff..I gave up and took the top off my ps2..It felt safer....((AOL really sucks!!))

I tried to do it, i could pull it to the right but the tray just opened about half an inch, so i forced it to open by pulling the tray out, then i pushed it back in and i moved the white thing back in the left place, but now that i want to open the tray it just opens about half and inch, can you tell me how to fix it so that the tray opens completely? Why did you remove the top cover of your Playstation 2?

So when you open the tray to take out SM discs for the backup it only comes out a bit? If so thats all it will come out you have to do the rest by hand :)

Well, i tried pulling but its very hard, that is how it works right? it has to be pulled hard, don't you think it will also be better to take the Ps2 cover away and be easier to manipulate the white thing?

Well when it comes out that little bit its a bit stiff to pull out but shouldnt be too hard to get out. And im not sure about taking the cover off. What do you mean by manipulating the white thing ?

i mean the white thing, i use the slide tool and you gotta hook a white thing in the hole then move it to the right, but in my PS2 it is very hard to pull the tray out, i'm afraid i'll break it, you think that if i try pulling it wouldn't break?

So this is when opening it? If so.
1) Put the slide card into the slot about 2cm from the left.
2) Slide it to the right and you will feel a little resistance (Thats the little white bump) but keep going and the tray will pop out a little bit, grab the tray from both side and CAREFULLY pull it fully out.
3)Swap the disc for your backup and push the tray back in.
4) Now put the slide card back in on the left side and push to the right, the tray will pop out a little bit, now you have to release the pressure on the card and go over the bump, when its hooked on the bump pull it back to the left, the tray will now lock.
5) Press X to load the game :)
If this is not what your looking for say so and i will try help out more :)

Yes, does instructions are real good, but what i'am having trouble is opening the tray since its hard, and when i pull the white thing to the right, and put the game, after that its also very hard like to hook the white thing again in the hole, i don't know what is happening or is because i'am new at this, for the tray you gotta pull it anyways as hard as it is, right?

Yeah you will have to pull the tray out, it might just be a little stiff, it might get easyier the more you use it :) Another alternative is a flip-top replacement case you will have to fork out more money tho.
