NERO BURNING PROBLEM-- HELP

I am having a problem backing up my DVD's. I have been doing this for a couple of years now and have never had any real problems, an occasional coaster every now and again. My computer recently crashed and had to be restored. I reinstalled needed programs and software and now I can't burn a DVD. I have no problems with CD's. This is very frustrating. I welcome any suggestions. Here is the Nero log that I get every time:

I tried 4x and got the same thing. My burner is the 16DDVDRW-A13 and I tried the flash update they have on their website, unless I'm doing something wrong. Also I am using the same media brands I have been using for years, unless I'm just starting to have problems with them. HELP!!

creaky,
I have 2 DVD burners installed. the other is an older memorex burner and i was just able to burn a disc with no errors using that. The only downside is it only does 2.4X speed (super slow), which is why I purchased the newer 16X Microadvantage. The firmware on the memorex has never been updated. I did turn on all DMA like you suggested.

as i say, now we've established your firmware is up to date, the drive still doesn't fully recognise the discs; but the other thing is that you really need decent discs anyway

It's been a minute since I replied to this thread. I finally had the time to purchase and try some verbatim media. Burned the first disc I tried with no problems. I guess that solved my problem.I have attached a copy of the DVD Identifier results from the new discs. Thanks for your help!!!

A few burns is never guarantee of anything, but in your case, good media was the only thing left to tweak, and you got some nice media there. i've only used a few of those ones myself but no issues with them. I've used about 1500 of the 8x ones (mainly -R but a few +R too) and Verbs are fantastic discs..



keep on burning, oh and thanks for reporting back... most people don't..
