Hi. I'm new to all this movie transcoding and programs, and i would like to convert some Divx and Xvid movies to Dvd format and make them playable on my home DVD. I've been trying to do it myself, and i've red multiple posts on that subject and that got me mixed up even more..So i know that you already post some of your solutions, and that you replyed to questions like this for a thousand times, but please write once more and you'll help me alot.
So i have P4 2.8 Ghz
Dual channel MB
1024 MB RAM DDR
2 x 80gb HDD
ATI RADEON 9550 128 Mb (I at last think that's the one)
I'm used to be working with nero to copy and burn CDs/DVDs.

1.)So i need an easiest and quickest way possible to convert Divx and Xvid to DVD and put subtitles on it. I don't need any fancy menu like selecting subtitles or soem fancy backgrounds, but i just need to know how to convert that,pu subtitles and make it work.
2.) I've tryed to convert xvid and put subtitles, but aparently there was some gap between Xvid picture and sound while it started to convert.. I don't know how to convert Xvid, because my sound and picture don't seem to be synchronised. So i failed that one as well
3.) If i have some subtitles and the info says 23.xx FPS, or 29 FPS..
How do i convert them to 25 FPS because i'm from Europe and my dvd likes 25 FPS..And How to convert avi or xvid file to 25 FPS, so i can add subtitles on that file? Because most of the time i find subtitles with different FPS then my .avi file. So i don't know how to make them to 25 FPs, and the same thing happenes when i find movie that is in 23 FPS..I just delete it because after a few hours of tension and screaming at the screen i decide to withdraw...
Please except my appologies for writing so many different questions and taking your time, but you're my only hope. People from some other forums directed me here and told me if i can't find any help here, i won't find it anywhere. So sorry for any inconvinience caused by the length of this post , but really need your help! Thanks alot, i hope i'll be able to return favour to you.!

Sincerely yours, General_Marshall!

OK... let's try to answer all of your questions one by one

VSO DivXtoDVD allows to import subtitles with its latest version. (IIRC AVI2DVD and the film Machine too, google for them to d/l). It's a not sophisticated package but it'll take your AVI file and convert a video_ts folder to burn with Nero, just what you wanted, right?

Use a tool called Subtitle Workshop (again google for it to d/l) which allows to import movie clip and subs at the same time. You can play the movie and adjust the subs consequently.

Again go to Subtitle Workshop and select while opening the fps of the subtitle file and the "desired" fps for output. The program will correct the times accordingly.
