Please please help, this is a very important game to me.

the order shouldnt matter too much.the important part is extracting the files and making the game size smaller.a good rule of thumb is to put the system and slus(scus,sles,etc..)in first.then maybe go from smallest to biggest file/folders.ive put files in the wrong order before and those games worked fine.actually ive gotten some games to work by putting them in the wrong order as opposed to them not working with the correct order.

Hey Guys,

First of all, great forum !!! Helped me a lot in the past, especially with fifa street..:P ! There's a problem I have with NBA Street (Pal Version). I've searched the forum and read about a few guys who were having problems with slidecard (freezing in load screen) , it's the same I am having at the moment. I tried to ways, backing up the game:

- Read and wrote ISO using DVD Decrypter.
- Read iso with DVD Decrypter, extracted files using isobuster to new folder, burned folder using Nero (5) not 6 udf/iso , does it matter ?

First way I had the same issue with the loading screen, second i get not a valid ps2 disc (tried also special boot on swap magic 3.3). Media I'm using is a Fujifilm DVD -r so a pretty good one. Had same problem with Fifa Street until I got the PAL patch but I couldn't find one for nba ...lods could somebody give me a hint on that ? Would appreciate that, have a nice day and greetings from germany.

Hey man, what i did was extract all the files of NBA Street V3 into a folder on the desktop. Then what you do is open 'Nero Burning Rom' and on the left side it has a selection of which dvd type you want to burn. Scroll all the way to the bottom and select UDF/ISO DVD. It will open a new window called 'New Compilation'. Click on the UDF tab and tick the 'Force DVD Video Compatibility Mode' box. Then click 'New' on the right hand side of the window. It should open up your project. The left columns should be blank except for the disc and the right columns should have your file browser. Open the folder on your desktop, and drag the files of 'NBA Street V3' into the little disc in the left column in this order!!!
(some filenames have been shortened but all start with what is given)
1. SLUS
2. Speech
3. Videos
4. XF
5. Music
6. SFX
7. FE
8. NETGUI
9. Database
10. Modules
11. DNAS
12. XLDSCRN
13. CNF
14. CSCRIPTS
15. DEV9
16. System

Then all you have to do is click burn and your game should be being created.
If this does not work try and use another type of media, just borrow a DVD-R of a friend and try it out.
Also if you dont have a version of Nero that allows you to make an UDF/ISO DVD, you can download the new version of Nero here.

Credit to all the guys who created and helped in forums, you were all a big help especially 'sui-cyco' who helped to make a working copy of this game!

First of all thanks for quick reply , help in this forum is outrageous !! As IunfortunatelyI don't have a Ps2 in my office ;) I need to test your trick this evening. But I've checked my extracted files and noticed I don't see all files you've listed. I don't have:

- SLUS (I guess it's a folder ? )
- Netgui
- DNAs
- CNF
- Dev9

Additional I can see IOPRP280.img, SLES_530.01. What about the XLD files ? I've got three of them ending with .bin - is there a special order in which they need to be burned to the dvd ? Except of putting the force tick into nero and ordering the files I did almost the same yesterday as I mentioned and I got 'insert valid...' But as I said I didn't tick the option and did not sort the files as you did...oh and don't forget, I've got the german (Pal) version so maybe theres a difference regarding the files and folders.

Ok, if you cant find all of those files do what sui-cyco told me to do. Rebuild them in an order sizewize. There should be a file that starts with either SLUS, SLES or SCUS. Put that in the disc first!! If fr some strange reason you cant find that, let me know. You should be able to find it though considering you have a PAL version of the game because so do I. Do not worry about the files you cannot find though. All you should do it extract them, then when you have opened your compilation and the folder with the files, insert the files from biggest size to smallest size but make sure that SLUS, SLES or SCUS comes first. If you need to know how to find out which are the biggest to smallest, hover over them with your mouse in the folder they are extracted and it should tell you the size, 1.31GB for example. I'm hoping you know the order in which the sizes go, GB, MB, KB etc. Also make sure you tick that option, it is required for both XBOX and PS2 copies. Your probably right though about why you dont have some files. My copy is the U.K. PAL version.

If you get a 'Not Valid PS2 Disc' error message it can mean three things.
1. You are not locking the tray after inserting the game (but I doubt that) or
2. That the DVD-R your using is not compatible with the PS2 or
3. The fact that you did not check the force compatibility box.

anyway man, i hope i've been a help to you, let me know how everything turns out and if there is anything you dont understand.
I'll be on again tonight so let me know if the game works when you get home. Best of luck man...

Hey !

Didn't make it to reply yesterday so here my result: :( I did as you said alkz, sorted the files starting with the biggest all the way done to the smallest (system), burned it 2x on Fujifilm and i got not a valid disc..so I started to use my small brain and noticed I've used a Philips disc for fifa street and never a fujifilm before....so I guess everything with Nero was good except for the media ....I'll try another one today, hope it will help, anyway I'll post a screenshot of my Nero compilation later on just to make sure it was right...thanks so far.

dont worry about what order they appear in nero(udf/iso)

make sure "mulitsession is NOT ticked"

as long as you drop them all in (i believe it doesnt matter even what order they are placed)
and burn at no faster then x 4

actually you would put in the sles and system files first .these are the files necessary to boot the game so you dont want them copied to close to the edge of the disc making it harder to read these files.so if you put these files in first they will be copied to the inside of the disc allowing the game to boot up.second i would suggest putting the files in as they are in isobuster after you put in the system and sles files first.if you dont have a way to find the file order then putting them in from smallest first to biggest in last.the reason being smaller files are harder to read if copied to lose to the edge of the disc.but after nba street files are extracted the game size should go down considerably that it shouldnt ba factor how the files are put into Nero.but do put the system snd sles in first.

also make sure you are using dvd udf/iso and not cd udf/iso on Nero.

Coded05, the compilation you have made on that screenshot is absolutely correct, burn it to a good media (i used TDK with G02 dye) and it should work.
What sui-cyco told you about the system and sles files was to put them in first. I just put the sles file in first and system last like you have done in the screenshot and it worked out perfect. I don't mean to disagree with sui-cyco, im just saying what had worked for me, but then again im sure, being a newbie and all, sui-cyco does know more than me but i do recommend you try my method out first with the screenshot you have and if that somehow manages not to work then try sui-cyco's method, but make sure before testing any method you use appropriate media.
By the way sui-cyco, what you told me to do and what you told Coded05 to do are completely different methods, but the method you gave me worked.
Coded05, i hope I have been a help to you and let me know if the game works out. If it still does not then let us know and we'll try and help you out man.
Also, where are you from, if your in the U.K., ill be willing to send a working copy of the game to you.
Get back to me.
1 more thing i forgot to say, hursty was right, make sure you have multisession disc unchecked and also remember to tick the force compatibility mode box.
Lastly, do not use a patch for the game man, you just need to rebuild it, and when it goes down in size from 4.3 GB to 2.4 GB that means the rebuild is working correctly.
Best of luck man
If there is anything else you need advice on, let me know...

file order isnt that important for this game.like i said before ,its the fact that you make the game size smaller that gets the game to work.alkz didnt know the file order so i told you to put the files in a general way that should work fine.as for code5,he had the file order so i told him just to go with the isobuster file order.it really doesnt matter but i wanted to keep the explanation simple to understand in both cases.for the most part you would do this method to backup nba street if you had swap magic.im not sure, but i dont think this method is necessary for most modchip users.but it shouldnt hurt though.

Hey guys,

Sorry , had a really hard weekend so late response now..again, same issue, burned it as seen on the screenshot but I got not a valid ...error msg..for sure I'm sliding correctly , it's working for other games so it must be this fuc**** media..first I tried a fujifilm, now one from a german discounter who sells really good media (well known on german internet pages) so I thought it will work but it doesnt..so is there any media you recommend ? Maybe philips ? As I don't have them in the office I'll need to buy them so I'll wait for an answer and try again....oh and alkz I'm from germany but anyway thanks, you won't need to send it I'll go on even if I crash thousand dvds

Hey man, sorry to hear you had no luck, if your still getting the error message then it probably is the media you are using.
Try and burn a different game on the same media and if you still get the same error message then it is the discs.
What I used are TDK DVD-R's with G02 dye. Trust me, TDK are what I think the best make for DVD-R's.
Best of luck man with the game, hope you get it backed up soon. Let me know what happens.

On reading this thread the only thing I can work out why this back up is not working for me is i cant get the sles and system file to the front of the list becouse my version of Nero will only allow me to put files into the burn list in alphabetical order. I have seached and can not find a sullotion to this problem (If it is a problem)with Nero 6. Any help would be great.

@code05
after you put the files into Nero, you select the burn compilation icon at the top on the menu bar, right?then you are asked if you want a multi-session disc which you would select no multi-sessions,ok.then you set your burn speed and i think you choose the settings of the iso format(havent used Nero in along time).make sure the iso format has the correct settings.then you bburn the compilation.does that sound like what you did?and you could rename the compilation from "new" to whatever you like,i always did but i dont know if it matters.
