You need to put in a game with a bigger Table Of Contents, in other words, a game that is bigger, memory wise, i.e. big games that have a lot of fmv's, lots of bonus material, etc. Like, say, GTA.

The straw is a sensor block. Instead of buying swaptools from swapmagic you can use straws to block the sensors and make the drive thank the lid is closed. You need a straw and some tape. People do it diff but heres what i do. cut 2 pieces of straw about 1 inch or 2. Now depending on the size of the straw it maybe easier to fold it over into a v shape(i use flex drinking straws, and bend them) then stick one into the back right slot to lock the disk stop out of the way. there is no sensor there but it will put drag on the disc. also tape always comes off for me. then fold the other piece of straw and slide it into the left back space to the right where the lid is attached. down in the crack, the sensor is activated by the door closing. tape a very small piece of straw or toothpick or what ever you can get over the front right sensor. now play with the rear left straw till you get it to activate the sensor and make it spin. It takes getting used to but it beats spending money. Ive gotten many homebrew software plus much more to run on my slimline 70012 using this method.

Let me make sure I've got this right... If I've got a disc in the ps2, when I get the straw positioned correctly the disc should start spinning? Why is that any different than just closing the lid? I've been able to start a game, open the lid (while at a menu) and then close it with no adverse affects on the game, it continues to load just fine?

Are you using a original PS2 disc? Once you open the lid on the ps2 it tells the system its been compromised and it rechecks the disc for the protection so if your using an original PS2 disc, yes it will continue to load cuz the system reads the protection. If you insert a copy its going to tell you its not a PS2 disc and go to red screen.
