Ok I have looked all over the board for this and cant find it anywhere. Please dont flame at me for asking this... Can I use a AR or CB and a home made card for backups instead of buying swapmagic and a real card? If it helps I have a V5 PS2. V8 CB and AR MAX. If so where can I find out how to make a card? Thanks

Home made card? what do you mean by that? some more info on what it is exactly that you want to do, and how you want to do it would be handy.

You know a slide card you use to trip the tray to open. I mean dont swap magic jus boot the game up? Couldnt I just use a cheat program with cheats off and start it up with that?

Hey I have another question I will just ask in this thread. Will HDloader and HDadvance work with my 40GB HDD inside my ps2 or do I have to buy an external?

Ah well to answer first question then: NO. you'll either need a modchip or an original swap magic disc to do that. you CAN user older versions of gameshark (psx version)to boot up backups of psx games, but that's about it.
Using a home-made card or a knife or something would work ok, you wouldn't need an "official" slidecard as long as yours fits underneath the tray.
