i am new here, so i dont know if this has ask before, sry >_<

which brand should i buy, if i want to burn backups and play on my version 4 ps2???

I've heard that Sony dvds is a good brand for the ps2. isn't that funny?

Well, I think for most models of ps2 it's best to use DVD-R discs and NOT the DVD+R discs as the -r's are compatable with most models if not all. The best brands to use are verbatims, Taiyo Yudens, Ritek g04 or g05... at the moment I am using ridisc brand (offshoot of ritek) cmc dye discs and they work great.

More important than the type of discs for the ps2, is the burner you have and it's compatability with the discs you're writing to... some burners don't like discs with certain dyes for instance. But the ones listed above are compatable with most burners I think... work fine on my NEC ND3520A burner anyway.

Verbitam are what id recommend.

Never had any problems with them.
