SM v3.6 disk won't load

Not sure if this is covered anywhere but I couldn't find it if it is, so here I go.
I have a version 6 PS2 that I use Swap Magig v3.6 with. Ever since I bought the SM disks I have had a problem with them loading. I usually have to insert and remove of restart 4-6 times before my PS2 will read the disk. Once I get the SM to load I can boot a backup just fine, I have only had a backup not boot on the first attempt one or two times. The problem is I am tired of sitting on the floor playing with the PS2 and SM just to play a game. Any ideas? Is this typical of pressed disks like the SM or is there something wrong with them?
Oh, and there are some verry slight scratches on the disk but I don't think any of them are bad enough to cause this.(I don't think so but I am no expert on scratched DVD's) And I have tried cleaning the disk. Didn't help. Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated.

I think it could be you laser, have you had any problems with any other games or audio Cd's? My swap magic disk has a good few scratches on it but it still works, is it just the DVD version or both that you have probs with?

So far I have not had any problems with any audio/video disks or any games not wanting to load, which is why this is so wierd. I don't use the CD boot disk very often and can't honestly remember if I had this problem with it last time or not.... And strangely enough the last three times I have used it (all since posting this thread) I have had to eject and reinsert it only once? Maybe I just had to threaten it with the brains at AD! LOL Who knows, I think my PS2 is on it's last leg anyway, last week I was watching TV and the front door fell off! I wasn't even touching it....Anyway, thanks for the ideas but it seamed to clear it's self out...
