As most of you should already know, it is not possible to connect to xbox live and play backup games. They only way I know of to play Xbox games online is through XBConnect. That said, I recently upgrade from dial up internet to 512k ADSL(Yay for me).
Anyhow, I hooked the xbox up to the pc through my new router and all seems fine. I can ftp to the xbox with no probs at all. But..... I try to use XBConnect to play an original copy of Halo 1, and I can't get it to recognise any games. It just says "Looking For Games". Ps, I did go into multiplayer/System link, so that aint the problem. I already tried the XBConnect website and they aint any help at all. Ugh, please help. Thankyou.

I dont understand why it wouldnt recognise a original game.

Have you done the "connect" thingy with xbconnect yet? when your xbox is looking for a game you need to make xbconnect by hitting the "connect" button. (its "connect" or something like that, i havnt used that program in quite awhile.)

On another note use "XLink KAI" instead of xbconnect, i find it more reliable and more people use it.

yeah if you havent actually got xbc to recognise your xbox then it definately wont work yet. when you say you cant get it to recognise any games you mean no games are showing up on xbc right? because you can tap your router into a game without even having the xbox plugged in or turned on, it will only show when you go into system link.

ps. if its a problem in xbc where you cant find any games to join it might mean your ping is to high or that you dont have the appropriot ports open on your router.

I can see the games on XBConnect, it's just that when I go into them the game i'm playin doesn't notice the game. Gonna have a look for XLink KAI.

hehe, I have exactly the same problem with XLink KAI. Hmmmm, I wonder, is it possible for a PAL player to join an NTSC game & vice versa?

it is definately possible i can vouch for that, but to keep the lagg out you really need to pplay games in your own country so that means the same reigion code, im not sure what the problem is though.
So you can tap the game in with your pc just fine but its not showing up on sytemlink is that right?
also what kind of connection have you got between you xbox and pc?

Well maybe you should try your backup :p

I have no clue why it won't work. I remember it wouldn't work for me at first, but that's cause I wasn't in the actual multiplayer screen.

Maybe try it in a different order?. try making your xbox look for a game and while its doing that, choose on kai or whatever the room you want to join.

In xbconnect, will it detect your xbox? have your xbox look for a game and then while its doing that make xbconnect detect your xbox. Have you done that yet? If so did it? I think the detect option is in the tools bar.

and no i dont really think its a port issue, was just a thought.

Edit reason= added something.
