how do u sue DMS HDD format utility

im am lost with this dms hdd format utility is an .elf file so i put in my memory card with launchelf but nothing show up. no main screen with option or anything can someone tell me what im doin wrong??

can you tell me where i can download the HDD Format Tool? i would like to try and could help out if i can get the utility.

@Havok: You should get an interface when you run it. If nothings showing up try burning the file again, perhaps it didnt take the first time around. Here is what it should look like (scroll down):

Jashsu, thanks for the link. This site looks like it's loaded with information.

BTW - I did search google for the utility, however I an new to backing up my PS2 games, and even more new to installing the HD. Take it easy on the new guys :)

@havok: I hope you were able to get the format tool to run. If you're able to load LaunchELF then you shouldn't have any problems. Also, if you're using LaunchELF 3.41k (the unofficial modified version), I would try reverting to 3.41 plain. I was using the -k version for a while too, but I had some problems where ELFs wouldn't load (just gives me a blank black screen, like you said), so I reburned with 3.41 and things work fine.
