God of War is a great game, I would have given up a long time ago for most other games.
So I let my friend borrow it, as he thought it was a fantastic game as well. He thought it was so great he left it on his stove while he cooked a pizza for a friggen hour.
So after lots of research on how to get a God of War puddle to play, I gave up and just installed the backup I downloaded offa usenet ages ago onto my HD.
The backup was kinda crazy, in format Id never seen before. It consisted of 4 ~2gig chunks and one ~8 gig chunk, all in something called .GI format. (Game image i guess)
So taking no chances i just threw them all on the HD, booted it up and played what has to be one of the best games I have ever played.
For the curious the 4 smaller ~2 gig chunks did nothing...
After seeing it play without a problem, I deleted the .GI files off my HD. This was a retarded thing to do, as will be explained in a sec...
...So the game freezes at pandora's temple after the big cut scene in front of the vulture, the same place Ive read it freezes for the other poor saps with my problem.
I have the latest patched version of HDloader .7c on cd, an infinity matrix mod chip, and I used WINHIIP to transfer it over to my ps2 hdd which was setup on my pc asa slave.
I have since pulled the image off the ps2 hdd and back onto my pc hd, and Apache 2.0 reads both layers perfectly. But any attempts to flatten the image in my patchedcdvdgen 1.5 is met with a "sector size exceeds blah blah" error and I can never export it as a iml file.
Ive tried the toxic dual layer patch, Ive tried enabling disabling any and all features on my chip (it has dvd 9 DL support) and on the HDL software.
Ive tried just throwing the .iso winhiip extracted from my ps2hdd back onto the ps2hdd, and that didnt work.
Am I sunk until I find another backup or buy another copy? :(
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
