When using DVD Decrypter, don't have AnyDVD or DVD43 running in the background, they conflict and will cause you problems.

Let's get down to brass tacks. How much for the ape?

I have never had a conflict between AnyDVD and DVD Decrypter. Only between AnyDVD and DVD43.

Your right, it's supposed to run in the background, but not with Decrypter, a LOT of people (but not all) have had problems running both at once. AnyDVD is designed to allow you to use non-css cracking programs on encrypted discs. If you want to use DVD Decrypter, use just it, not it with some other program trying to do the same thing at the same time, hence the problems. DVD Decrypter gets most movies on it's own, and the odd one it doesn't DVDFab Decrypter should, but I know lot's of people like ANY & 43 as well. Anyway, we were trying to help masseyj, and as he isn't having success with the programs we're talking about, he'll need to troubleshoot, and a good place to start is by simplifying where the problem is, ie one program at a time. Good luck massey, I'm sure you'll get it yet.

hey guys i got problems burning with DVD Shrink at least i think thats what it is.It was working fine but then i started getting this annoying errors when i try to play the dvd i just burnt. it says disc not readable or unreadable format things of that nature and trust me i've tried every single way to burn i've wasted 20 blank dvd's already with no luck. I've tried burning it with DVD Shrink by itself, with DVD Decrypter, creating an iso file and burning it, with Nero and roxio nogood. I tried AnyDVD no luck, i even got a new dvd burner drive n still didn't work, even though i updated the driver. i might think there is something wrong with my computer set up or DVD Shrink, n-e help plz i really will appreciate it.thnx fellaz

Unfortunately, TDK +Rs are made by CMC, a known "crap" media and burning at 8X only compounds a bad situation. Use good media and burn no faster than 4X and you should have success.

TYs, TDK-Rs, Verbatims and others. Check the DVD Media Threads on this site. The Faster the burn with questionable and sometimes good media, can increase the rate of errors in your burn. Many factor go into having a successful burn. Media, burn speed, burning programs, read speed, multitasking, power supply strength, laser in burner, burner firmware etc, etc, etc. The more you allow yourself to minimize the possible errors under your direct control, the better off you will be.

I have no desire to start a big argument here, but the folks who run DVD Decrypter keep forgetting that there is a BIG difference between the way the program copies disks in ISO and FILE modes.

In ISO mode, the copy protection routines and strange formats are basicly left in place. The program (for the most part) just makes a Disk Image or (exact copy) of what's on the disk. In that mode, there is NO CONFLICT between AnyDVD or DVD 43 and the DVD Decrypter program. What ever AnyDVD or DVD 43 feeds to the Decrypter Program, in ISO mode, is what ends up in the final file.

However, in the recommended (Program Default) of File Mode, DVD Decrypter uses its OWN copy protection removers (keys) and format correction routines. In File Mode, both the AnyDVD and DVD 43 FEED routines can, and sometimes will, cause many computers to have conflict problems.

These things need to be kept in mind when advising new users.

Personally, when I use AnyDVD, I don't use ANY copy programs at all. I just open the DVD to the VIDEO_TS file and right click on COPY. Then I go to the place on the Hard Drive that I want the video file, create a file folder with the name of the disk, open that folder, then right click on PASTE. After that, Windows XP's own video copy routines will transfer the entire file to my HD. It will always copy at the Best Speed the DVD Burner can handle, and I have seen no difference between the final files produced that way and those I copy with Decrypter in File Mode. DVD Shrink has no problems reading the protection free files copied that way either.

Lots of ways to skin a cat folks.. Lots and lots of ways!
