Hi actually they're not mine, but no matter the site wants suggestions.
Basically, there's a website that hosts streaming video, and they're only allowed to stream that video, because they're exploiting a loophole in US broadcasting laws.
Anyway, some people have figured out howto download the streams (which they could just download from p2p networks instead if they had any sense) and it's brought their servers to a standstill, as well as rocking the legal foundations of their site.
All their files are encoded in NSV format (details here: http://www.nullsoft.com/nsv/ and here http://www.scvi.net/).
They've put a player within their webpages, and they've encryped the pages content using some sort of javascript (their sites down at the moment except the forum so I can't give you a sample).
Does anyone have any suggestions how they could prevent people from downloading the samples? E.g. a secure way of encrypting the pages.
I've seen programs that can record streaming music and/or video in the past, perhaps one of the expert's here knows of a type of stream they've had no success downloading?

P.S: If this accounts got bad cred, it's prob cos it's a public account (the owner's put the login credentials out for all to see, I won't say where (many of you probably know the site I'm thinking of anyway :P).

Well maybe Change the Format to WMV and add DRM Protection to the Videos (Unless NSV supports a Form of DRM)...the Latest and Most secure version of DRM has yet to be Cracked so if they downloaded the File it would be Useless to them because they could not watch it or convert it to a Different Format....
