I've always used DVD Shrink 3.2 to copy DVDs, but recently I've tried copying two movies Benhur and Fat Albert and I got copy protection error messages.

Anyone know why this may be happening now and never before and how to get around this issue.

If DVD Shrink can't deal with the copy protection on those two disks, you might want to try DVD 43 (a free program) running in the background. It will clean up most of the new copy protection systems. If that still won't do it, try the Free Trial Version of AnyDVD. Either of them should fix the problem (IF) it really is a copy protection issue and not a bad disk.

What error message did you get? I don't think either of these 2 discs has anything special on it.
You can also try to rip with Decrypter then use Shrink and burn w/ your app of choice.

I agree with binkie there is nothing special about these movies. I did Ben Hur with Shrink, mine was a two disk set. If you are getting CRC errors you probably have a bad disk. Decrypter should be able to rip right through both of these movies.

The error I get is as follows.


DVD Shrink encountered an error an cannot continue.

Copy Protection Error

The request could not be performed because of an I/O Device error.
