As a newbie to the world of back ups I was wondering if someone can answer a few for me please

- Is there any way to play NTSC games on a PAL system?

- Some of the games I have backed up are black and white when I play them, is this an NTSC-PAL issue?

- How do I backup an .sfv file? Can it be done using DVD decrypter straight away or do I need to change the file extension first, if so, how do I go about it?

1. you have to modify your PS2 to play back ups
2. with Swap Magic boot discs or a good modchip
you can play both NTSC and PAL
3. if you try to plat a PAL game on an NTSC system, or the
other way around, it may show up in black and white..yes
switching the screen mode on Swap Magic to the correct region should
fix that.
4. as far as burning a .sfv file i have no idea what
your talking about on that one. Explain?

If you decrypted the game using DVD Decrypter then it should burn it fine through the same software. Not sure if it does if it is a downloaded game file though.

Thanks for the comments guys much appreciated.

Im not sure if an .sfv file is just another version of an .iso file but it operates different to a .rar in the fact that I cannot extract it into an .iso image.

I have a number of files (in this case 10)which contain the data, but I have no way of getting them joined up. With an .iso image I add it into DVD Decrypter and then back up. Problem with these files is that DVD Decrypter doesn't recognise them in their current format and so I have 10 files which I cannot back up.

Could you also tell me how to switch the screen mode? I am using Swap Magic version 2 (I know there are updated verisons but it's all I have to work with for for now)

Swap Magic 2 doesn't have screen modes as far as
i know. It started with 3.0 so you are just out
of luck.
type the file names of the files you have. then
someone may be able to help with burning them.
if they are the actual game files then Nero can
burn them, but someone will need to tell you the
correct order the files should be in.

Thanks Steimy, appreciate it,

Im guessing these are game files cause they have no extension, they are numbered. For example, I have Silent hill 2 (which has 48 parts)I also have Transformers (which has 73 parts)

Is there a specific order to the above or can I add them in the order that I received them and then back up with Nero?

If there is a correct order, does anyone know how I find this out?

TIA
Skinny

@skinnyb0y

I've hosted an NTSC-PAL patcher. All you need to do, is extract it with winrar, then run the program, click browse, search for the ISO of the game then double click it. Then click patch. And it will show the results. Also, when it has patched, go to the shown website and record your results. Thanks.

Thanks Mik3h,
It's still not playing ball. It did convert the file and I get the blue border when booting up with Swap magic but it won't load. Never mind, I appreciate your help.

On another note, does anybody know of a fool proof method of converting .bin to .iso and then backing up with DVD Decrypter. Ive tried a couple of times but I'm getting the red border on swap magic every time.
