50 Pack DVD's for $10?

Ok honestly this looks sketchy but on ebay there are auctions "buy it now" for $10 for a 50 pack of dvd's. But its not just one auction, its like 200 of them and from different sellers too. I am a little confused though because for example, heres a description: 50 Pieces 1X/2X/4X/8x BLANK DVD-R MEDIA DISC 100% A GRADE. Theres no company that really makes them and they state "Grade A" That gives me a little worry. But arent all DVD-R's pratically the same? Just rumors about them not working and just different companies.

Odds are very good that they are junk but I'd be curious who makes them. Maybe they are decent and they get ya with over-priced shipping.

These have a high probability of being crap media. All media are definitely not the same, some are good and a lot are junk for movie DVD backupsw. If you want the gamble....go for it. one usually gets what one pays for....:-)

... Stick with Verbatim, Sony, Maxell or anything made by Taiyo Yuden .. That way you'll only be posting about your successful experiences instead of wondering about what went wrong ...

I've bought media off e-bay and I've had great success.Although I think if you're getting a deal that appears that good,more than likely you'll be getting shafted on shipping cost....probably around $17.00 to $20.00.

I agree with the fact that buying from ebay can become a total disaster. I buy online from supermediastore.com and purchase Yaiyo Yuden (o1 & 02's 4x & 8x). Verbatims SL & DL are next for my burns and then Maxell.

@catfreak, I just purchased 100 pk. Taiyo Yuden O1's 4x from Supermediastore.com, 10% off also, so I was looking at $26.99, then they tacked on shipping. Great buy for great media. That and Verbatims, Maxell's are all I use. I will use Sony, but not nearly as much as the others.

How fast is the shipping?

@helloyoda, the shipping for groound is 5 business days. I always have 300-400 blank media on stock as well, so I'm never in a rush, but I do buy when I see good deals. I have not used Ritek as of yet...sorry I cannot help you with that question! Have a good day!

Does anybody know who makes Windata (Microcenter house brand) thats on sale (right now) for $9.99 per 50 pack? I'm not buying (TY is my preferred brand) & it's not listed in the brands sticky.
Oh & to the guy who loves Ritek. I bought a 100 pack of 8x G05 3 or 4 weeks ago. Most burned fine at 4x in my Plextor 716-A drive however I had a few that wouldn't finalize & a few more that gave an error during the burn process. Wasn't the computer ot DVD drive that did it but it was the media. I'd say about 15 coasters out of 100 discs. I test burned a few at 8x but the results looked much better at 4x so thats what I burned the rest at. 98% were for data but I used about a dozen for 4x speed burned DVD video. About half of them skipped or froze briefly during playback on 2 different players in exactly the same spots so from now on I'm buyimh Taiyo Yuden, Sony or Maxell media as I've never had a problem with those.

no experience with the Windata's either, but as creaky stated, if the regulars here have not heard of them, most likely a very big gamble to the quality of them...i would steer clear too~
i bought some CRAP khypermedia CD-rs from Microcenter, they were on sale too, NONE of them play anymore...not saying microcenter is a bad company, when they had sales on Verbatim dvd+r/dvd-r, i loaded UP~! they got my business right away.
lastly, ebay is NOT the place to buy media from...most of the time you get ripped off severely w/ their vague descriptions, high shipping or shady sellers. beware

I'm not buying any Windata DVD's just wondered who they really were. CMC I'd guess cause thats what some old 12x KHypermedia (another Microcenter brand?) was. Thing is those data discs still work since they were burned at 4x.
I'll never buy CMC crap anyway since I know (from the forum) that CMC DVD's are crap & from my own experience(with audio CD's burned from mp3's) that I couldn't burn them (in my 48x TDK VeloCD at the time) over 8x otherwise I got crackling noise & skipping problems.
Yep, CMC is utter trash just like Princo!!!

As I just wrote in another thread a couple mins ago, svp (in the uk, sorry, but its about time we had some bargains over here) are doing tubs of 10 verb +r for £2.49 so am gonna buy something like 300 for 75quid. Why people buy unheard of media when there is top media I'll never understand..
