hey guys, i still cant play grandia on ps2 it has 2.5gb of movies in a MOVIE folder.is there some way i can delete some of these or make them smaller so the game will work ok? i think the TOC is too big 4.35gb and with swap magic the game just causes the eye to go out on track to far and become stuck.

Not too sure but you would need to find out what the movies were like if there's any extras on the DVD then you could remove them but again it's finding out which ones aren't needed, take it you imported this game? Also have you tried a TOC swap?

If there's a way off getting the movies into a mpeg format then you could downsample but you would need an application that could get them out then out them back in.

I know in the game God of War there was downsampling that has been done by some users.. Maybe you can find something in this thread that will help you with the downsampling

I've never had a game that required a TOC swap but i know that you can get around the TOC if you have a game with a high TOC (table of contents) by using a real Ps2 game with a high TOC such as Mercenaries. Swap Magic comes with a TOC and if a game has a higher TOC it won't boot it unless the TOC gets refreshed with a game with a larger TOC but it has to be a original Ps2 game and not a backup.

so to do this TOC swap you load up a large game like GT4 original and then shut off ps2 and boot up swap magic and put in large TOC backup and it will work????

To do a TOC swap all you need to do is boot Swap Magic press the eject button then insert a original Ps2 game with a large TOC, then use the swap method (slide tool or fliptop) to swap for the game and you should be able to play it

Am not too sure if GT4 has a high TOC if you search the forums you may find a list.

hav u ever used slide card? maybe last time u used it u didnt do it properly, eg, if u open the tray it wont work unless u put the card back in then bring it up and down, it kinda like locks it back in place.
